Scrap busting Saturday - Tags and Journal cards

Hi everyone,

Good Saturday morning to you all. It is Scrap busting Saturday again today, and while I say that Im really working on some tags and journal cards and creating more scraps. So far things are looking good for a productive day! What's on your table today?

just going to start glueing this stuff down and then headed to the sewing machine where the fabric and fibre magic happens!

Free Bee Friday! - Digital Collage Sheet - Black and white vintage book pages birds flowers

 Hi Everyone, well here it is Friday and I have another lovely collage sheet for you. This sheet is another black and white of birds and flowers taken form a vintage German Reader book from the early 1900's. 

I cleaned up the images and made the collage sheet, then I printed it on white paper and coffee stained paper just to show you what it looks like (see below). Who needs ink stamps when we can print the images onto paper and tear out to use, right? This is so easy and we can print them on card stock, brown paper bags, coffee paper scrapbook paper and even book pages. It is endless!

Feel free to use in your art for both personal and for resale art products made from this collage sheet.

Vintage magazines how to use?

Hi everyone 

I have a lovely collection of vintage retro magazines. Most from the 1960s to 1970s

Seventeen, McLeans, Good Housekeeping to name a few. Most of them are 10 x 13 inches in size with beautiful full page advertisements and some are in brilliant colours. The magazines are too large to try selling and many of them are dog-earred and distressed that it is not worth trying to sell as a whole or even individual ads due to the size for trying to mail out. So I put out this question,  how would it be best to use these magazines in a junk journal. Most of the ads are 10 x 13 inches. I would love your input on this, and would be happy to share some of these with anyone that can give me ideas of how to use them.

Tip of the day - Beading a chain

Hi everyone 

If you happen to own one of these banana holders, it is fabulous for beading chains. You can adjust the chain as you go along and easily see where you are at and how it looks.

If you dont have one, I  know I see them all the time at thrift shops. Another option would be one of those ornament holders for holding 1 Christmas ornament on display. What I like about this banana holder, is that it has a tray at the bottom to hold my beads while im working.

Scrap busting Saurday - beading frenzie

Hi everyone 

Well here we are, another Saturday and I am still busting through my bead pile. Hoping to make more dangles and maybe some boho beads today. No promises, I can easily go squirrel hunting today, just not feeling com0letely in the zone. But I am sitting here so let's see what happens.

FreeBee Friday - Digital Collage Sheet - Black and white vintage book pages girls women

Hi Everyone,

Another Friday upon us yay weekend! And another Freebee Friday giveaway. I was working on some images from vintage book pages and created this collage sheet of girls and women. In black and white this image is fabulous to print on coffee stained paper, coloured papers and even small patterned scrapbook paper. Gives the look of ink stamping but no worries of not stamping perfectly.

These images will make super cute tags and journal cards.

My morning coffee watching a Video. Bam! 16 clusters made!

 yes, while I sat and drank my coffee this morning, I watched a video by Shabbydabbydoodah.

Tho mine are not exactly like her's I was having fun and cleared off some scraps and bits from my own work table. Just like that! 16 Made!

Yesterday was a good day! Tags, pockets and fabric collage!

 Hi Everyone,

Well I had an awesome day yesterday and finished off a ton of stuff that has been sitting in the to do pile.

Made some Easter tags, 1 more set of tags with clusters, set of 3 fabric collage pockets and 2 sets of fabric collages. Ive used some images from Graphics Fairy and the sweet little girls in the yellow and pink dresses are from Paper Whimsy. So much fun all in one day!

Bohemian Gypsy Boho style journal cards Set of 3

 Hi everyone,

Todays creativeness came as 3 journal cards decorated in a boho gypsy style.

My cards are made with the a collaged shabby fabric boho  gypsy style theme my design. 

I used a sheer fabric overlay over  the image to create a through the curtain look at these lovely gypsy dancers. Cards are hand sewn with many layers of fabric, threads, scraps and trims to create a shabby vintage look. 

Cards are backed with a distressed lined paper for writing and finished with a blingy dangle and small coin replica.. These cards approx 4ish x 6ish. 

These cards are for sale on ebay.

Is it artable? Yes!

Hi everyone  

I was folding laundry this morning and one of my towels has seen better days. But it is the perfect weight and as ugly and tattered as it is i just cant throw it out. So I tore off the raggy seams and folded it up and into the towel basket it went. Just as I was ready to toss out the raggedy bits I looked at it and said to myself, yep this is artable! Stay tuned! ;)

Boho gypsy style Fabric swatch kits.

Hi everyone,

I spent the whole morning cutting fabric today so that I can offer for sale some Boho gypsy style fabric kits. These kits are made up of 10 pieces of fabric that is 8 x 10 inches and 10 additional scrap pieces that range from 4-5 inches wide and 6 - 8 inches long. A total of 20 pieces. The price will be 18.00 plus shipping and they will be posted on my Ebay listings shortly today. I have a total of 6 kits available. When they are gone, they are gone.

The fabrics are from a variety of repurposed clothing and fabrics.

Some are from Saris, silk  cotton, fibres and more. Some are shear and some have some beautiful trims and embroidery included on the fabric piece. Sizes are approximate only because it isnt easy to cut some of these perfectly straight, but they are slightly larger to accommodate the irregular cuts so that you can cut them straighter and have some scrappy bits to play with as well.

These are the exact fabrics you will receive but the section of the pattern may vary, and I will always add in some extra goodies in the package before closing it that will compliment the fabrics for your creative expression. Here are the pictures showing closeups of the fabric swatches.

 

Scrap busting Saturday - Boho fabrics

Hi everyone, well here we are with another Scrap busting Saturday.

Today I have this huge pile of boho style fabric bits to work with. My plan is to spend today and tomorrow busting through this pile to create some clusters, maybe a snippet, some boho style beads and some journal cards. Thats a lot right? I always give myself big plans and I may not always be successful but I  am always hopeful. 

And I am sure you are asking, why do you have sooo much scrap fabric? It is because I spent  the whole morning putting together some awesome swatch kits that I will be selling on Ebay this week. Stay tuned for my next post showing you the swatch kits. Below is my fabric scrap pile, and I will try to update after the weekend what I  made with it all.
